The hidroelectric energy is a primary energy and he is renewable. He is a traditional energy.
Brief definition
The hydraulic energy is an energy that is obtained from the fall of water from a certain height to a lower level which causes the movement of hydraulic wheels or turbines at high speed, causing a rotation movement that finally, is transformed into electrical energy by means of of the generators.
Advantages
1.- Renewable energy Hydropower is renewable. This means that we can not exhaust it. However, there are fewer and fewer suitable sites for the construction of hydroelectric plants and even fewer, where those projects are really profitable. 2.- Clean energy The generation of electricity with hydroelectric power plants is not contaminant in itself. The only contamination occurs in the very process of the construction of the large power plants. 3.- Stable production
It is a very stable source of energy. There is very little fluctuation in terms of production of the power plants, unless there are changes in the needs. It is usually used to guarantee the minimum energy demanded. If there is water in the dams, electricity can be generated. 4.- Flexible By adjusting the water flow, more or less electricity can be produced according to demand. When demand is low, water is kept in dams or reservoirs waiting for consumption to be higher. It is a source of energy that adapts to our needs. 5.- Secure Compared with nuclear energy or that obtained with fossil fuels,
hydroelectric energy is much safer. The only fuel that is used is water.
Problems
It destroys nature because the reservoirs and occupy many spaces
